Job Summary:

Under general direction, determines overall systems requirement for new and existing products with more senior engineers or management. Defines features and functionalities of assigned products across multiple engineering disciplines, generally including electrical, mechanical and software disciplines. Provides specifications on how each component (electrical, mechanical, software) interacts with each other, with assistance as needed. Supports customer product testing activities. Assists in composing technical reports and presentations. May interact with DENSO applications and design engineering groups in addressing hardware and component issues. Configures and integrates electronic and mechanical hardware with software products to meet the functional criteria of client specifications. 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Supports the design, development, troubleshooting and de-bugging of less complex programs for enhancements and new products.
  • Conducts engineering evaluation, under guidance of more senior engineers or management, of engineering projects developed to demonstrate value of existing product technologies and identify future customer needs, building engineering justification for the launch development of newly identified products.
  • Assists in the development of complex, embedded systems that require knowledge of schematic design, product design, electrical architectural models and prototype testing. 
  • May act as a liaison between DENSO divisions or affiliates and the customer on product design, quality and related issues. Works with customers, under guidance of higher level engineer or manager, to identify customer product requirements and follows up with DENSO affiliates or internal departments as to specific requirements and product design changes. 
  • Learns test strategies and plans created by team to support execution of task. Interacts with other team members to discuss testing strategies. Analyzes test results and reports to senior engineer or manager for review. Supports investigation on major or non-routine customer field complaints. 
  • Assists in coordinating engineering systems projects by addressing issues related to ECU control strategies, software and hardware development via validation and calibration to ensure robust Created By: Payfactors Admin February 17, 2025 Version: 3 and compliant engineering management systems in accordance with DENSO standards. 
  • Monitors academic, industry, and government activities related to area of responsibility(s) to gather insights towards industry and customers direction. 
  • Supports department on root cause analysis of problems and performs quality checks as needed. Identifies and analyzes quality problems, determines impact and proposes recommendations for improvements. Determines bottleneck in the current systems and suggests solutions to problems. 
  • Conducts market research and benchmarking where appropriate for use at Technical Reviews. Performs patent searches, creates and submits new patent requests, researches and reviews existing patents. 
  • Analyzes and recommends improvements to current processes and systems to more senior engineers and/or management. 
  • Actively participates in On the Job development and training under mentoring of senior engineer or management. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or computer engineering or related field 
  • 0+ Years of Related Experience in software development, including specification, documentation and quality assurance
  • Experience using MATLAB, C, Python or similar 
  • Experience working with embedded systems 
  • Automotive industry experience preferred 

Skills And Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of general engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of microcomputer, hardware, software, development tools, and debugging methods in order to develop, configure, test and de-bug software.
  • Knowledge of Process Improvement, life cycle models and process models.
  • Analytical skills to handle reasonably complex situations from both the micro and macro level 
  • perspective. Uses professionally recognized techniques when standard protocols are not 
  • available; must be practically applied in innovative ways. Must rely on judgment to gather 
  • information from and follow-up with various outside sources; considers broad range of 
  • issues/factors. Recommends creative resolutions and improvements.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to interpret and/or discuss technical or sensitive 
  • information with internal and external customers. Discretion in deciding what and how to 
  • communicate. Oral presentation skills to maximize the impact of thoughts transmitted
  • Negotiation skills to resolve fundamental situations/issues, which may be potentially conflict in 
  • nature, while making point firmly and seeking a positive outcome for both sides.
  • Customer service skills to address customer issues and partner on resolutions. Approaches every

  • and fruitful
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills that strike a balance among validation/verification, 
  • requirements analysis, customer interaction and project oversight.
  • Comfortable working in a non-structured environment (sandbox thinking). 
  • Ability to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies.
  • Ability to thrive in complex and rapidly changing work environments and have a solid mix of 
  • technical and nontechnical skills.
  • Must be able to perform analysis, troubleshooting and systems design

ANNUAL SALARY: $90,000 - 113,000
