In this position you will....

Be responsible for supporting the work around the group-controlled entity financial reporting; as well as supporting a wide range of accounting technical assessments, supporting finance leadership to make decisions. You will be working with Oracle & our outsourced business services partner for consolidation and excel for collecting other financial data.

You will be responsible for…

  • Managing the full cycle financial closing process of group-controlled entities and the preparation of the financial statements and ad hoc reports as required
  • Driving effective communication with key stakeholders before, during, and after each reporting milestone
  • Liaising with the group controllership teams on accounting-related queries and/or reports submission.
  • Working with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at the year-end.
  • Ensuring that management and financial reporting can be fully reconciled, and any variances explained.
  • Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles in accordance with local and international framework / standards
  • Guiding other finance teams by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
  • Driving and leading special projects, workflow process improvements and strategic planning and other ad hoc requests.

You will require the following qualifications and skills                                                                                          

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields with 3-5 years’ experience in financial closing 
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, execution, project management skills coupled with good financial acumen
  • International insurance industry and Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management and exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, cost accounting and IFRS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels 
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Good time-management skills and able to thrive in a fast-pace setting
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong ability to direct, supervise and manage executives while simultaneously handling various tasks
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (e.g., Power Point, Excel, Word, MS Project)
