Join the Sony Advanced Visual Sensing (AVS) group, an R&D center of Sony Semiconductor Solutions in Zurich, Switzerland. We specialize in developing innovative computer vision algorithms and sensing systems, working with the wide range of sensors offered by Sony. This includes the latest CMOS cameras, event-based vision sensors and others. We’re a small and dynamic team where everybody can talk to everybody and give input on any topic at any time. We aim to give people the space to learn new things and develop themselves.
To speed up ongoing activities to validate commercial applications of our sensors, we are seeking a skilled, motivated, and software proficient:
Computer Vision Research Intern (m/f)
to conduct algorithm development, work on demonstration prototypes with camera hardware and help to build a strong technology portfolio from the bottom up. This internship is based in Zurich and should preferably start in January 2026.
Your Responsibilities Will Be To:
- Investigate, innovate, and put into effect new algorithms for prototyping and validating the commercial value of our sensors in specific applications
- Learn how we can better understand the world around us through photons
- Collaborate with wider team to improve and future-proof our processes, software and tools
Profile:
- Currently pursuing a MSc degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Engineering (Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar)
- Experience with Computer Vision and Machine Learning with understanding of their underlying theory
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar
- Experience with image sensors, embedded software development and version control (git) is beneficial
- Effective communication skills and professional working proficiency in English
- Ambition to continuously learn and improve
