What’S The Role?

As a Senior Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in evaluating, directing, and monitoring first-line risk activities, ensuring Technology risks remain within the Westpac Group’s appetite. You will advise Technology Leaders —especially in IT Infrastructure and Service Management—on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks from IT projects. Your expertise will support project delivery, enhance risk transparency, and drive informed decision-making. You will coordinate risk-related activities across the portfolio and maintain and improve risk reporting within the portfolio.

What do I need?

• Extensive experience in Technology risk and Risk in Change roles for IT infrastructure projects within large, complex organisations (ideally financial services)
• Deep understanding of Technology, especially IT infrastructure components such as networks, operating systems, databases, and public cloud
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and project management abilities
• Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with PowerBI, PowerApps, VBA, and Excel for data analysis and reporting (preferable). Ability to derive insights and recommendations from analysing large sets of data.
