Full Time
Collaborate proactively with the global legal team and cross-functional partners, including policy, communications, operations, finance, sales, and marketing, to advise on legal matters in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries, effectively balancing domestic and global perspectives while managing multiple priorities
Engage with government stakeholders to shape and respond to regulations impacting Meta, develop and implement legal risk mitigation and compliance strategies, and play a key role in crisis management, demonstrating strategic thinking and adaptability
Guide and drive legal decision-making, providing advisory and project management leadership across a broad range of legal subjects, including corporate structuring, regulatory issues, intermediary liability, content legal issues, privacy, data protection, e-commerce, cybersecurity, and general legal risk management, while effectively prioritizing among competing demands
Contribute to additional Asia- and global-based projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on new challenges
This position requires the ability to manage high workloads, prioritize among multiple competing interests and deadlines, and operate effectively in time-sensitive situations
Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
Native-level fluency in Bahasa Indonesia required as the role will involve daily legal work related to our Indonesia business and engagement with external parties in that country
Qualified as an Advokat or Foreign Legal Consultant (Konsultan Hukum Asing) in Indonesia in order to manage legal work for our Indonesia entity
Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience, with prior experience at a global multinational company in Indonesia considered advantageous
Proven experience of consistently working under your own initiative to quickly, and accurately assess legal, practical, and business risks, and to prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment
Demonstrated experience advising clients in the technology and digital media sectors on a wide range of issues, including internet and cybersecurity laws, user-generated content, and corporate and regulatory matters
Evidenced success in communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience of working effectively with cross-functional teams
Track record of guiding stakeholders through highly ambiguous and complex situations
Proven experience with problem solving, applying organizational skills and managing several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
Demonstrated experience of exercising sound judgment and implementing practice solutions
Open to travel as and when required
