We are looking for a Project Manager to join our dynamic team and lead a range of exciting projects across the New Zealand Pacific Region.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to impactful work in sectors such as water, transport, aviation, property & buildings, geotechnical, planning, and advisory services. You’ll also play a key role in securing future opportunities and expanding our project portfolio.
You’ll be supported by the Business Group Leader and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across New Zealand and internationally. This role blends project delivery for both our internal design services and external client engagements.
The position will be preferably located in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, but we are open to other locations where GHD has an office for the right candidate.
The Role:
- Lead and deliver projects across the APAC region, ensuring quality assurance, risk and change management, programme and cost control.
- Engage and manage stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development through proposal and bid preparation.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to meet project goals and exceed expectations.
About You:
- Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
- 8+ years of experience in project management.
- Proven experience managing complex projects with a strong focus on risk, quality, timelines, and commercial performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- A track record of building trusted client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
- Versatile project management experience across consultancy, client-side, or contractor-side roles.
- Proficiency with project management tools and systems for tracking, reporting, and control.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a “can-do” attitude.
- A strong team player, able to collaborate effectively across disciplines and geographies.
