The MEP Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing aspects of construction projects from planning through execution. This role ensures that all MEP systems are designed, installed, tested, and maintained according to project specifications, standards, and within budget and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering activities on the project site.
- Review MEP drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant standards and codes.
- Conduct Site surveys to develop the scope of MEP Retrofit Works.
- Work closely with architects, consultants, and other engineers to integrate MEP systems into the overall project design.
- Manage and monitor the MEP subcontractors’ work to ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Prepare and update MEP project schedules, resource plans, and reports.
- Support procurement of MEP equipment and materials by reviewing technical submittals and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure proper installation and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to MEP systems during construction and commissioning phases.
- Liaise with authorities and ensure compliance with local regulations and permit requirements.
- Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure proper documentation of all MEP-related activities, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and test reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in MEP project engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, codes, standards, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of project management tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Certification in PMP, LEED, or related fields is an advantage.
- Valid UAE Driving License.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with regular visits to project sites.
- May require extended hours and weekend work depending on project demands.
