Role Summary

The Occupational Health Technician role at MCL is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organised individual to join our expanding team.

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated professional with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. The successful applicant will be a self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. They will be confident troubleshooting and problem-solving and have a passion for supporting the success of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the MCL Medics team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of health screening & health surveillance assessments
  • Day-to-day maintenance of health screening equipment & facilities
  • Recording & maintaining accurate, clear, concise medical records
  • Managing Health Records ensuring safe storage, security and confidentiality of all OH records, in line with legislation and best practice
  • Greeting visitors and answering the door
  • Scanning, filing, copying, and record management
  • Clinic preparation
  • General office support as required
  • Ensuring safe storage of equipment when offsite
  • Always maintaining high professional standards
  • Working to strict protocols & procedures set by MCL Medics and in line with SEQOHS accreditation
  • Developing competency in a wide variety of screening tests and techniques, including:
  • Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Pulse, BMI
  • Audiometry, Spirometry, Skin, HAVS, Vision
  • Urinalysis – Drug & Alcohol testing
  • 12 Lead ECG testing
  • Chester step fitness testing
  • Assisting with D4 driver assessments, OEUK (offshore) assessments, Seafarer & Rail medicals
  • Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Pulse, BMI

What Are We Looking For?

  • Experience in a health screening or medical environment
  • Health related qualifications are preferable but similar workplace/educational experiences considered
  • Proactive, friendly, and professional individuals with workload management confidence
  • Contribution towards safe working practices across the OH Delivery team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to contribute ideas and suggestions for improvements in order to achieve more effective working practices
  • Someone who remains calm under pressure and is trustworthy and honest
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages, and comfortable in use of OH software
