About The Role:
The Quality Engineer (Mid-level) at Spartronics is a critical contributor to ensuring that all products and services meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards. This mid-level role requires a strong working knowledge of industry-specific standards in the medical, military, and aerospace sectors. You will work cross-functionally with Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to translate requirements into actionable quality plans and procedures. This role balances customer advocacy with company goals, always driving continuous improvement and compliance across the product life cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Foster and maintain a safe, respectful, and collaborative team-based work environment.
- Interpret and implement customer, regulatory, and internal requirements into quality processes for design, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, testing, inspection, and delivery.
- Adhere to departmental/corporate metrics and ensure performance.
- Oversee and improve the Spartronics Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure continued compliance and effectiveness.
- Investigate and manage quality issues (internal, supplier-related, or customer-warranty) to prevent adverse impacts on product quality, service, schedule, and cost.
- Develop, implement, and train inspection, testing, and product acceptance methods.
- Create and manage required customer documentation, including APQP, FAIR, PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA, and Inspection Plans.
- Lead root cause analysis, risk reduction, and implement permanent corrective actions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure traceability, data integrity, and product compliance with customer specifications.
- Support engineering teams in the qualification and validation of production equipment.
- Analyze and communicate quality trends, metrics, and performance to leadership and external stakeholders.
- Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within the medical, military, or aerospace sectors.
- Lean Manufacturing background and skillset.
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective leadership skills for cross-functional investigations and improvement teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of delivering clear technical information and reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality data analysis tools.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in evaluating processes and product data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) certification.
- Skilled in root cause investigation, problem-solving methodologies, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Material Review Board / Nonconforming Material Control.
- IPC and J-STD certifications.
- Experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 QMS standards.

Compensation: This is an exempt salaried position. Compensation may be based on experience, qualifications, skillset, and education in the electronics manufacturing industry.
