Applications are invited for appointment as Principal Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution in the Faculty of Law (Ref.: 533305), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal.
The Faculty of Law is the longest-established law school in Hong Kong. It plays a leading role in legal education in Hong Kong and Asia, through its various undergraduate, research postgraduate, and taught postgraduate programmes covering a wide range of legal subject areas. It is the largest and oldest law teaching institution in Hong Kong, currently comprising over 80 teaching members from more than 17 jurisdictions worldwide.
We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished professional with a robust background in arbitration and dispute resolution to join our team as a lecturer and programme director for the LLM in Arbitration & Dispute Resolution. Individuals with significant practical experience in these fields are especially encouraged to apply, as we value real-world insight alongside academic excellence. The appointee is expected to be responsible for duties related to alumni engagement, including organizing site visits and public-facing events.
Qualifications And Requirements:
- A law degree (LLB, JD, LLM or equivalent) is required.
- Significant professional experience in arbitration and dispute resolution, and familiarity with accreditation system (e.g. HKMAAL, CIARb and HKIA) are highly desirable.
- Professional qualification as a lawyer, arbitrator, or dispute resolution specialist in Hong Kong or another jurisdiction is preferred.
- A strong record of, or clear potential for, excellence in teaching, advocacy, and intellectual engagement.
- Experience in teaching practice-oriented courses and supervising student work.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
