If you are passionate about preserving and enhancing Sydney's urban parks and open spaces, we have a unique opportunity for you. Greater Sydney Parklands is a city-wide agency dedicated to the growth and preservation of parklands and is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our team. As an Operations Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of designated parks by delivering operational excellence in asset management and development for landscape, facility, and infrastructure maintenance.
What’s in it for me?
Join a team operating in a dynamic, fast paced environment committed to a positive work culture with active collaboration and genuine long-term career support. We offer diverse and fulfilling assignments and prioritise work/life balance and wellbeing with initiatives like flex leave and access to support programs. Additionally, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome, respected, and empowered to succeed.
The Role
The Operations Coordinator role is all about keeping the parks running smoothly. The role provides the essential operational oversight to ensure our parklands are in optimum condition with a focus on visitor experience, public safety, and meeting community expectations every day. You’ll work with our maintenance contractor, ensuring our landscapes, facilities, and infrastructure are safe, accessible, and well cared for. It’s hands-on and varied, one day you might be reviewing and auditing contractor performance, the next reviewing plans for future works or proposed community events.
You’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders, from service providers to internal teams, and need to juggle competing priorities while keeping things customer focused. The challenge is balancing operational delivery with compliance, quality standards, and community expectations—all within some of Sydney’s most iconic parklands.
