- Opportunity for Legal Officer role in Native Title Practice
- Ongoing full-time opportunity, 35 hours per week
- Based in Parramatta with flexible working (other NSW locations are negotiable)
- Salary ranging from $115,853 to $130,547 (depending on experience) + superannuation and annual leave loading

About The Practice
The Native Title Practice in the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water supports clients including the National Parks & Wildlife Service and Heritage NSW to reach negotiated outcomes with native title holders, ensure compliance with the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and achieve Aboriginal outcomes.
All members of our practice have prior experience working for Aboriginal organisations and we strive to work in a respectful and culturally appropriate way. There are many significant projects in the pipeline, and it is an exciting time to join our practice.
About The Role
You would support the Senior Legal Officer and Principal Legal Officers to assist clients with native title negotiations, provide legal advice on native title and related areas and help deliver Aboriginal outcomes.
About You
You are a highly motivated lawyer with a passion to deliver quality legal advice and services to clients and to support Aboriginal outcomes. You have strong analytical and research skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to find creative solutions.
Essential Requirements
- Eligible to hold a practising certificate in New South Wales.
- Experience in native title, land rights, administrative law, environmental law, water law or Aboriginal cultural heritage (or a strong desire to learn).
