Job Summary
Under the direction of the General Counsel, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our real estate and compliance team. They will be working alongside the compliance and risk managers and play a key role in ensuring that Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, LLC adheres to federal and state regulations and internal policies. This position requires the ability to maintain accurate records, manage multiple tasks, lead projects with deadlines, and support ongoing compliance initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
Corporate, Real Estate:
- Support the legal department in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including documentation, title and survey review, lease administration, and due diligence coordination.
- Prepare and track contract critical dates, closing checklists, and transactional timelines to ensure timely completion and compliance.
- Draft and edit correspondence, amendments, estoppel certificates, leases, and other transactional documents for attorney review.
- Prepare lease abstracts and maintain accurate lease and property records.
- Draft, prepare, and file corporate formation, qualification, annual, and dissolution documents with appropriate jurisdictions.
- Maintain and update corporate records, including organizational documents, resolutions, meeting minutes, and entity databases.
- Assist in policy drafting, review, and revision, ensuring consistency with corporate and legal standards.
- Conduct legal research and special projects as assigned.
Compliance:
- Support the Legal and Compliance departments in developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, policies, and training initiatives.
- Track compliance training for employees and new hires; maintain records of audits, assessments, and corrective actions.
- Assist in investigating HIPAA breaches, compliance violations, and patient complaints; coordinate resolutions under supervision of the Compliance and Clinical Risk Manager or General Counsel.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR, IT, and Safety teams to ensure robust organizational compliance and mitigate risks.
- Maintain and monitor employee health data in Immuware, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA; track and coordinate health screenings and immunization programs.
- Assist in risk management by documenting and investigating incidents, conducting compliance and safety inspections, and tracking assessment data to identify trends.
- Provide administrative support for insurance, workers’ compensation, and claims coordination, including communication with stakeholders.
Work Arrangement: This is an on-site role at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute's corporate office located in Des Plaines.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of corporate and commercial real estate legal experience
- Paralegal certification preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in healthcare or a related regulated industry, with working knowledge of compliance frameworks and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, CMS, and FDA guidelines preferred.
- Strong understanding of compliance and risk management principles, including policy implementation, audit tracking, and incident documentation
- Familiarity with corporate governance, regulatory filings, and entity management
- Excellent skills in Google Workspace and Microsft Office 365, with the ability to manage spreadsheet, presentations, and databases efficiently.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Legal, Compliance, Risk) and external counsel.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
