Quality Systems Specialist

Essential Functions:

This Position Is Responsible For:

• Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging Mid Valley Family Foods Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
• Develop policies, procedures, and processes for a quality management system to support the company’s quality, food safety, and business objectives in the manufacturing facility.
• Implement monitoring and verification systems to gauge compliance and operational effectiveness.
•  Maintain quality systems to align with business objectives and drive continuous improvement across the division
• Act as food quality team leader, managing quality systems-required activities and scheduled meetings, including senior management quality reviews and associated reporting duties.
• Serve as SQF practitioner in the facility and support Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
•  Be responsible for SQF re-Certification and all related processes and documentation required for compliance and certification
• Perform, assign, and validate SQF-related tasks according to the established schedules
•  Conduct verification and validation of food quality and pre-requisite programs
•  Monitor production conditions, specifications, process controls, tracking controls, and internal audits.
•  Coordinate facility corrective actions with appropriate quality team members
•  Monitor finished product evaluations as determined by customer or in-house requirements
•  Support new product development trials and commercialization activities
•  Support the approval process and revisions of packaging artwork and nutritional labels.
•  Monitor all quality-related procedures and create or update procedures
•  Maintain all documented information as per SQF requirements and customer requirements
•  Manage the document control and record retention program
•  Develop, prepare, and lead food safety and quality training activities for facility team members
•  Provide summary reports to the General Manager and the QA Manager of testing and monitoring activities
•  Assist with the regulatory visits from CDFA, CDPH, FDA, and other agencies.
• Maintain the laboratory schedules
•  Provide support to the Quality Assurance Manager in other duties as needed.
•  Oversee Microbiological testing/ testing
• Support as a liaison for all customers along with providing all necessary documentation required by the customer.
•    Provide support to the Quality Assurance Manager in other duties as needed.
• Position Requirements:
• To be a successful, Quality Systems Specialist  they will need:
•  Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in compliance, auditing or related experience

Familiarity With:

• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
• Safe chemical handling practices
• HACCP principles and cross-contamination prevention

Ability To:

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize equipment and areas
• Safely mix, use, and store sanitation chemicals per MSDS guidelines
• Operate sanitation tools (foaming units, pressure washers, hand-held tools)
• Sit, stand, kneel, lift, and climb ladders
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Work weekends and/or holidays

Physical Requirements:

Frequent Standing , Walking, Fine motor use with both hands ,Lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds

Must Be Able To:

• Sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods
• Move throughout the manufacturing floor and warehouse

Salary: $120,000$130,000
