Your New Role

As the Medical Excellence Associate Director, you will be responsible for leading operational excellence and strategic initiatives within Clinical Development, Medical & Regulatory Affairs (CMR). You will develop frameworks, optimize processes, and ensure alignment across the organization to enhance medical impact. Your key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead medical excellence initiatives, strengthen learning programs, and optimize grants and donations frameworks. 
  • Translate business and departmental priorities into operational strategies that address key challenges and drive measurable outcomes. 
  • Lead complex cross-functional projects across NNCI to centralize and harmonize processes, improving efficiency and collaboration. 
  • Partner with leadership (VP, CMR and Senior Director, Medical Excellence) to prepare and support affiliate business planning. 
  • Identify process improvements and implement governance standards to enhance the customer and stakeholder experience. 
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and resource allocation for Medical Excellence team members. 
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to optimize medical systems, simplify workflows, and ensure data-driven decision-making.

The Medical Excellence team within Clinical Development, Medical & Regulatory Affairs (CMR) at Novo Nordisk Canada drives innovation, consistency, and impact in medical operations. We optimize processes, centralize strategic initiatives, and enable cross-functional collaboration to elevate medical performance and scientific engagement across the organization. 

Your skills and qualifications 

To be successful in this role, you must have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field; a Master’s degree (scientific or MBA) is preferred. 
  • 7+ years of experience managing Medical Affairs or cross-functional projects within pharmaceutical or consulting environments, including project and budget management. 
  • Strong expertise in learning program development, medical education programs, process improvement, and governance frameworks, with a strong process-oriented mindset. 
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills, with experience in people management considered a plus, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex matrix structures. 
  • Strong proficiency in English; French would be an asset. Strong communication skills with both scientific and business audiences.
