The DGA India team in New Delhi is looking for a Senior Associate to support the practice on client service and delivery, business development, and internal functions. As a Senior Associate, you will work closely with colleagues to cultivate and enhance their local/regional, functional, sectorial/industry, and geopolitical expertise, to provide value for clients and internal teams. The senior associate will support and develop drafts of client products (e.g., reports, presentations, stakeholder maps, market analyses) and drive innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate as part of client teams and expected to have greater direct interactions with clients. 
  • Typically, deliver first drafts of reports, client presentations, briefing memos, and stakeholder maps. 
  • Master best practices in research and product delivery, including the use of internal proprietary and diverse sources of public information; with an ability to evaluate competing versions of events or asymmetrical understanding of crucial factors. 
  • Conduct research and support client teams with developing frameworks and analysis. 
  •  Focus on cultivating and enhancing geopolitical, regional, and sector/industry expertise (e.g., U.S., India, Europe, and/or HLS, finance, energy, trade, tech, etc.).  
  • Take initiative and assume responsibility relevant to client deliverables and internal functions. 
  • Assist in directing interns and other colleagues to collaborate on producing agreed upon products. Help train interns and full-time staff during onboarding and conduct follow-up when necessary.
  • Support members of the team in New Delhi and Washington, DC in client service and firm/business development. 
  • Assist with the coordination of business opportunities within the regional/functional practices. 
  • Work as part of the practice’s overall BD efforts and help identify business opportunities.  
  • Develop personal network of relationships to cultivate potential clients and creatively build new business, and to foster broad ASG networks through interaction with associations, think tanks and policy shops. 
  •  Perform other duties assigned at the discretion of management. 

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of relevant prior work experience in areas such as public policy, regulatory affairs, management consulting, policy research and analysis, political consulting, legislative research, law, advocacy, commercial diplomacy, etc. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, economics, law, international relations, public policy or business administration, or a related field, from a reputed university, or equivalent experience, with a Master’s in related field a plus. 
  • Strong academic or professional experience analyzing business, political, geopolitical, or economic issues and trade context impacting India in a global setting. 
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint and other MS Office tools. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail. 
  • Strong analytical capabilities, along with an aptitude for conceptual thinking and ability to develop frameworks for analysis. 
  • Ability to multitask and organise oneself, to work on multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse and multi-cultural local and global teams across DGA geographies.
