The Big Picture

The Senior Quality Inspector is an experienced and fully trained professional responsible for planning and prioritizing inspections within their area. They play a key role in mentoring and training other inspectors, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency. In addition, they actively identify opportunities for improvement and drive the implementation of enhanced inspection practices.


Your Impact Through Innovation

  • Ensure all incoming material meet specifications using variable and attribute measure instruments or techniques to ensure conformance with quality management system standards.
  • Ensure samples selected for in-process and final inspection meet specifications using variable and attribute measure instruments or techniques to ensure conformance with quality management system standards
  • Maintain records of inspection for all items inspected; Document and report all quality issues on non-conforming material report
  • Make recommendations to supervisor for improvements to inspection methods/techniques or work environment
  • Ensure proper labelling of items within Inspection Areas
  • Advise on methods of resolving measurement problems
  • Design, manufacture, evaluation and calibration of measurement practices
  • Manage the inspection of goods in their area, including setting the priority of inspection, advises on inspection methods/techniques most suited for the application
  • Manage exceptions identified by Quality Inspectors
  • Make decisions related to product acceptance; Decisions will typically be supported by precedence or clearly defined procedures; Unusual or complex decisions are usually referred to a more senior authority
  • Review recommendations for improvement from staff and forwards to appropriate quality engineering staff; Coordinates improvement projects in quality control
  • Manage quarantine cage
  • Train Inspectors
  • Comply with the Health & Safety policies of the company and inform management of unsafe working conditions

Your Unique Expertise

Required Skills:

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • 4-5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector
  • Proficient in use of measuring equipment and inspection techniques
  • Proficient in use of ERP systems for managing inspection processing
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings to determine part dimensions and tolerances
  • Good record keeping and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong employee relations, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

  • Post-Secondary education
