Position Overview:
The Electrical Engineering Lead (Integration) is responsible for leading the design, integration, and validation of complex electrical systems across multiple subsystems and disciplines. This role focuses on ensuring the seamless integration of electrical components—power, signal, control, and communication—into complete systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in electrical engineering along with strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills to ensure electrical integration aligns with performance, safety, and reliability goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of electrical system integration, including requirements definition, architecture, interface management, and design validation.
- Own the development and execution of integration strategies across electrical, mechanical, and software teams.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to electrical engineering and integration teams.
- Ensure proper electrical connectivity, power distribution, signal integrity, grounding, and EMC/EMI compliance across subsystems.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems teams to identify and resolve integration issues early in the design cycle.
- Lead system bring-up, debug, and root cause analysis for integration-related issues.
- Drive the integration timeline and deliverables within the overall project schedule.
- Develop and maintain interface control documents (ICDs), schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Support prototype and production builds with hands-on integration support and troubleshooting.
- Develop and execute electrical test plans for system-level verification and validation.
- Support environmental and regulatory testing (e.g., EMC, electrical safety, functional tests).
- Ensure integration documentation is current, accurate, and compliant with internal standards and external regulations.
- Contribute to risk assessments and design reviews from an integration standpoint.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in electrical design and integration, with at least 2–3 years in a lead or senior engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, power systems, communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C), and signal integrity.
- Hands-on experience with system integration, debug tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers), and test instrumentation.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams through integration challenges.
- Background in industries such as aerospace, automotive, robotics, or consumer electronics.
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Altium, Mentor Graphics) and simulation software.
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles and tools (e.g., DOORS, MBSE).
- Knowledge of functional safety (e.g., ISO 26262) and regulatory compliance.
