The Role
Pure Storage is at the forefront of redefining how enterprises harness the power of data. We are seeking a visionary and deeply technical Director / Senior Director of Product Management to lead our AI product line. This leader will be responsible for shaping product strategy, driving execution, and delivering innovative AI capabilities that leverage Pure’s data platform, delivering value across data pipelines, analytics, and intelligent applications.
This is a senior leadership role requiring a strong technical foundation in AI/Analytics systems, deep understanding of enterprise data architectures, and proven experience bringing cutting-edge products to market.

What You'Ll Do
- Define and own the product roadmap for Pure’s AI product line.
- Align AI product initiatives with Pure’s core data platform strategy, ensuring seamless integration with data warehouses, lakes, pipelines, and customer environments.
- Identify and evaluate market opportunities, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to shape differentiated product offerings.
- Drive the roadmap and execution of AI capabilities, ensuring high-quality product releases that deliver measurable customer value.
- Partner with engineering and design teams to build and scale products in areas such as data pipelines (ETL/ELT), data preparation, semantic layers, and SaaS-based AI applications.
- Lead go-to-market planning with marketing, sales, and customer success to ensure successful product launches and customer adoption.
- Build and mentor a team of product managers focused on AI and advanced data services.
- Act as a thought leader internally and externally, representing Pure in customer conversations, industry events, and analyst briefings.
- Partner with cross-functional executives across engineering, GTM, and corporate strategy to drive alignment and accelerate AI innovation at scale.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
What You Bring
- 15+ years in product management or technical leadership roles in enterprise software, SaaS, or data infrastructure companies
- Deep technical experience in building or knowledge of including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLMs), Agents, Co-Pilots, and data fabric integrations.
- Proven track record of defining, building, and launching successful AI-driven products, ideally in areas such as LLMs, RAG, Agents, Co-Pilots, or data platforms, preferably with early stage startups.
- Strong background in enterprise data technologies: data fabrics, pipelines, ETL/ELT, warehouses, and lakes.
- Experience with modern AI/ML architectures (MCP-based multi-agent systems, semantic layers, orchestration frameworks).
- Demonstrated success working with Fortune 500 customers and delivering enterprise-grade solutions.
- Deep technical acumen in AI/ML, cloud architectures, and data management.
- Exceptional strategic thinking with the ability to translate emerging technologies into practical business value.
- Strong executive presence, communication, and influence across technical and business stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and innovation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field required.
- MBA or advanced degree in a technical discipline strongly preferred. #LI-ONSITE
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
