Job Description
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex construction projects within the industrial and energy sectors, ensuring client objectives are met through effective planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination. This role requires close collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
The Project Manager will oversee project cost, schedule, and budget management, as well as supervise general contractors and specialized vendors involved in infrastructure development, including industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, and large-scale civil works.
This professional will also be responsible for reviewing technical and construction proposals, validating scopes and pricing, assessing work-in-progress, and approving capital expenditures. They will ensure that all project activities align with safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the construction, industrial, or energy infrastructure sectors.
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects such as manufacturing plants, energy facilities (e.g., power generation, substations, renewable installations), or industrial complexes.
- Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Construction Management); PMP or similar certification preferred.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to lead meetings, prepare executive-level reports, and deliver high-impact presentations to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects in the industrial and energy sectors, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
- Interface with clients, regulatory bodies, and technical teams to align project goals and compliance requirements.
- Analyze and manage critical milestones to prevent schedule delays and cost overruns.
- Conduct and lead project meetings, presenting progress updates and risk assessments.
- Review and validate contractor proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure alignment with quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Approve payment applications, final invoices, and retention releases.
- Track procurement and delivery of specialized construction materials and equipment, including energy systems and industrial machinery.
- Document and act on events that may lead to claims or disputes, advocating for the client’s interests.
- Coordinate with scheduling and cost control consultants to maintain project transparency and accountability.
- Support engineering and design decisions during construction changes, ensuring budget and timeline integrity.
