BT is seeking a Tax Senior Associate with a strong background in Asset Management and Fund Services to join our growing Tax practice. This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong experience in partnership taxation, flow-through entities, and private equity and venture capital structures. The Senior Associate will work closely with fund clients, providing high-value tax compliance and consulting services across a diverse portfolio of asset managers, venture capital firms, and private equity funds.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex partnership tax returns, including tiered structures and multi-state filings
- Lead preparation of Schedule K-1s and ensure accurate reporting for fund investors
- Review tax returns prepared by Staff and provide detailed feedback and mentorship
- Prepare and review income tax projections, quarterly estimates, and tax planning strategies for fund clients
- Conduct technical tax research and draft memoranda on issues related to Section 704(b), 754 elections, carried interest, and fund structuring
- Analyze book-to-tax differences and prepare supporting workpapers for fund entities
- Identify and resolve tax issues related to capital contributions, distributions, and waterfall allocations
- Build strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor on fund-related tax matters
- Communicate professionally with federal and state tax authorities regarding notices and inquiries
- Participate in training and development programs, both as a learner and a facilitator
Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA eligibility required
- 4+ years of relevant tax experience, ideally in public accounting
- Strong technical knowledge of partnership taxation, flow-through entities, and fund structures
- Experience with venture capital, private equity, or asset management is highly preferred
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., GoSystems, CCH Axcess) and Excel
- Excellent communication, project management, and client service skills
