We are currently looking for a Lead Product Engineer to join our team in Holland, MI.

Job Summary

The Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will guide a team of engineers in developing innovative products and solutions, providing technical leadership and mentorship throughout the product development lifecycle from concept through production. This role involves conducting manufacturing feasibility assessments, optimizing material flow, and developing strategies for labor, equipment, and new material integration. A strong background in material science, chemistry, and chemical engineering is ideal, with hands on experience in material development, conversion processes, and adhesive or fabric technologies. Project management, including business case development, procurement, and execution of new equipment and tooling. Candidates should be adept at aligning technical solutions with customer needs, manufacturing capabilities, and financial objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic product engineering initiatives aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Drive innovation in product design and development, exploring and implementing advanced technologies and methodologies.
  • Lead complex problem-solving initiatives, utilizing advanced analytical techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams for large-scale product development projects, ensuring alignment and collaboration across departments.
  • Develop and implement best practices and standards for product engineering, ensuring consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term product strategy, providing expert insights and recommendations.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering or other relevant field of study
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 additional years engineering experience OR 4 additional years engineering experience if no post-secondary education
  • Work Experience: 7 years of engineering experience with Bachelor’s Degree OR 5 years of engineering experience with Master’s Degree
  • Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military
  • Must have the ability to Lift/push/pull product or other items up to 50 lbs
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI 
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred)
  • Strong statistical problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record in new product launches, including equipment specification, procurement, and execution
  • Background in chemical engineering, material science, and material development (including adhesives, fabrics, and coatings)
  • Cross-functional experience in finance, engineering, and project management, including timeline and budget creation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving new materials and process innovation
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly adapt and contribute
  • Comfortable presenting to and collaborating with senior leadership
