As a Test Technician II, you’ll be part of our Technology group supporting new product testing and prototype development. This hands-on role focuses on the assembly, operation, and measurement of mechanical seals and test rigs to ensure product performance and reliability.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test mechanical seals and rigs to meet R&D requirements.
- Coordinate sample preparation, including tracing parts, working with the lapping department, and verifying finish quality.
- Operate precision measurement tools such as profilometers and roundness tracers to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Perform rotor balancing and other precision measurements for prototype assemblies.
- Log and analyze test results, summarizing key findings for review.
- Support team meetings and planning sessions, contributing insights to ongoing projects.
- Assist engineers in test setup, data recording, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain an organized workspace and follow safety and 5S practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement and innovation activities within the test lab.
Qualifications
Education:
- Technical Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field preferred.
Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a technical, mechanical, or test lab environment.
- Experience with seal or rig assembly, profilometers, roundness tracers, rotor balancing, and precision measurement preferred.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Apprenticeship or experience in manufacturing or R&D environments is an asset.
- Strong documentation and data reporting skills (logging, summarizing, presenting results).
