Your Next Challenge
The Operations Manager (Road Logistics) which is based in Geraldton, is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Newhaul’s Transport Operations division, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of product from pit to port. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance frontline delivery with long-term planning, optimise systems and processes, and coach and develop a team of supervisors.
Working in close partnership with key stakeholders across the Roads Division and beyond, this role plays a pivotal part in delivering operational excellence, achieving service and tonnage targets, and maintaining Newhaul’s strong commitment to safety and compliance.
The Role in Action
- Leadership & People Management – Recruit, lead, and develop Superintendents and Supervisors across multiple sites, setting clear KPIs, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Operational Execution – Oversee daily transport operations to ensure safe, timely delivery, while driving planning and scheduling to optimise resources and efficiency.
- Strategic Planning & Optimisation – Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across labour, fuel, fleet, and loaders, while supporting digitisation and automation aligned with business goals.
- Safety & Compliance – Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with WHS and transport regulations (including WAHVA), leading incident investigations, and enforcing safety protocols.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring contractual obligations are met and exceeded, while partnering with the People Team on workforce attraction.
