At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.

About The Team:

The Integration team at Relativity Space pulls together the efforts of all other vehicle and manufacturing teams to deliver flight-ready vehicles for test and launch.  To meet our goals, we will build best in class manufacturing, test, and quality control processes to keep our team moving fast while still producing high quality, well understood products. The Integration Engineers with a mechanical focus will be responsible for taking propulsion and structural piece parts and subassemblies and integrating them into fully functional verified rocket stages—ready for test or flight. The Integration Engineering team will drive efforts to establish the manufacturing and business practices and processes necessary to accomplish that goal. Working alongside discipline-specific manufacturing engineers, the Integration team will be the focal points for the first build and test vehicle campaign.

About The Role:

  • Contribute to, and take partial ownership of, the Thrust Structure Integrated Assembly. This includes secondary structures, fluids, avionics, engine installation, and test checkouts prior to S1 mate.
  • Drive the assembly’s first integration effort through design integration, process development, mBOM management, and work instruction creation.
  • Coordinate across several partner teams such as Quality Engineering, Fluids Engineering, Production, Avionics, and Supply chain to communicate schedule needs and drive deliveries for your respective assembly.
  • Problem-solve for non-compliance events during build and test of your assembly, requiring creative solution finding and project managing the solution to completion.
  • Author test procedures and act as test conductor to verify as-installed hardware health and build integrity.
  • Assist with developing the business tools and processes that will be used to manufacture the first launch vehicle. In parallel, help to define and pilot the long-term ERP, MES, and QMS solutions that will enable high-quality, efficient vehicle manufacturing.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience authoring work instructions and/or test procedures to build and checkout interdisciplinary structural and fluid assemblies.
  • Experience interfacing with design engineering, manufacturing, and production personnel.
  • Experience planning and test conducting hazardous operations.
  • Self-starter that has demonstrated the ability to define and own a process from scratch and roll out that process through adept communication to a diverse team.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Ability to take an analog-oriented test plan, a strong understanding of the controlling device, and use a scripting language (ex. python) to develop graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and automate system checkouts.
  • Working understanding of avionics hardware and initialization processes.
  • Experience planning and test conducting hazardous operations.
  • Experience in leading, executing, and managing projects in a fast-paced environment.
