St. Mark School is seeking a dedicated, creative, and mission-driven communications coordinator. The communications coordinator assists the administration and the admissions director in several key functions to help raise awareness of our school and programs mainly through social media and our school website. In this role, we expect our candidate to work collaboratively in order to create and implement a marketing plan as well as fundraising for the school.

Essential Functions

  • In collaboration with the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Admissions Director develops and implements a comprehensive strategy for parish communications and media presence.
  • Designs, develops, and ensures production of all printed and visual materials with and for the school, ensuring a unified theme (“brand”) in all communications.
  • Critically assesses and creates communication formats, including but not limited to weekly printed and online bulletin, website, social media, fundraising and development publications, school-specific brochures and flyers, etc.
  • Develops additional methods and resources for communication of school mission and activities in the local community.
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to update the website with relevant programs and activities.
  • Ensures that all communications reflect a superior standard of content and presentation.
  • Produces school communications, including email and social media notifications using tools including but not limited to Parent Square, Bright Arrow, Facebook, Instagram, and other sites.
  • Tracks school activities and events, and prepares communications to promote events within the school.
  • Create and distribute video media as appropriate

Position Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; college-level education in journalism, public relations, mass media, or similar field is strongly preferred.
  • Strong graphic design skills, and proficiency in relevant communications and website software and G-Suite.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; outstanding proof-reading skills to ensure the highest material quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Professional interactions and rapport with coworkers, parents, and students
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and spoken language skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Excellent technical skills, particularly in information technology and innovation.
  • Video, photography, and most media experience are necessary.
  • Motivated self-starter; works independently without direct supervision as well as cooperatively as part of the parish staff team; meets given deadlines.
  • Work well in a team office setting while collaborating with colleagues
  • Current skills in hardware and software, and the ability to learn new things and teach others.

Pay Range: $45,000, Annualized
