The schedule for this position is:
Monday-Friday, from 2:00pm to 10:00pm.
This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment by performing setup, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. This role collaborates closely with packaging line leads and operators to resolve issues, minimize downtime, and uphold a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions:
- Perform setup, adjustments, and repairs on mechanical components of production lines.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues in collaboration with operators and line leads to minimized downtime.
- Execute preventive maintenance activities following established schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Read gauges, clean machinery, make adjustments, and replace machine parts for all equipment.
- Assist in developing and improving preventive maintenance procedures to extend equipment lifespan and enhance reliability.
- Provide technical guidance during line startups, shutdowns, and transitions to ensure smooth production operations.
- Document all maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, parts replaced, and time spent using the maintenance management system.
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance activities and repair history.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kaizen events to identify and implement process or equipment improvements.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment and recommend modifications or improvements to enhance safety.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or emergencies to minimize production disruptions.
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and automation upgrades in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Perform quality line changes by dismantling old components, installing new parts, and testing segments to ensure proper functioning and productivity.
- Perform basic electrical work on machinery as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Work overtime as required to meet business needs
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Competencies:

- Proficiency in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production line equipment with strong manual dexterity and an understanding of tool selection for various tasks.
- Strong critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills to identify root causes of mechanical issues and select appropriate solutions based on priorities.
- Basic math and computer skills, including experience with maintenance software, inventory systems, and the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to instruct others, coordinate activities, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Keep attention to detail with the ability to multitask and detect potential problems to ensure efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to visualize changes, detect problems early, and take proactive measures to prevent mechanical failures.
Required Education & Experience:
- Must have the ability to maintain current knowledge, skills and/or certifications relevant to assigned job responsibilities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar role
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Previous experience working in food production or packaging. High speed bottling experience is a plus.
- Technical degree in the mechanical technology field.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a manufacturing setting. Must be able to tolerate working in a noisy environment while utilizing proper PPE. This position requires regular standing on hard surfaces for extended periods. Must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The ability to perform tasks that require extensive use of arms, legs, and full body movement, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, and handling parts or materials is required.

Starting Pay Range:
$26.50 - 33.00/Hour
$2.00 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift.
Where a candidate falls within the pay range will vary based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, education, skills and experience.
