About The Role

 In this role, you will be at the forefront of our data quality efforts. Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Framework Accountability: Oversee the central data issue management and quality framework ensuring it meets stakeholder requirements and incorporate enhancements aligned with our Data Strategy. 
  • DQI Development: Design new and review existing Data Quality Indicators (DQI) to continuously monitor data quality and provide transparent reporting of the data-related risks. 
  • Tooling Enablement: Steer tooling development and capabilities to track and effectively manage data issues and drive adoption within the Data Governance community. 
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Work closely with internal Tech and Business stakeholders, at all levels, to implement data issue management and quality frameworks and align on future enhancements. 
  • Best Practice and Culture Promotion: Promote a culture of data quality and accountability through stakeholder engagement, training, and consulting. 

About The Team

 Our department, part of Group Data Services, is committed to strengthening data, AI and records governance practices across Swiss Re. We are the global focus point of data governance, operating from Zurich, Bratislava, and Bangalore, focusing on meeting regulatory requirements and enhancing data issue management and quality control.  

About You:

  • You have a Data Governance background with practical experience in Data Quality and managing data distribution in an enterprise environment. 
  • You have experience working in IT and are very comfortable discussing systems and technology with our IT colleagues. You understand data and tech. 
  • You are familiar with platforms that provide automated Data Quality controls (Palantir Foundry experience will be considered a plus). 
  • You are an excellent communicator and very confident when presenting to and aligning with senior stakeholders from all areas of Swiss Re. 
  • You have experience in building and managing small teams.  

Key Skills Required:

  • Educational Background: University degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience across industry, IT, and data centric applications. This should include a minimum of 1year of practical experience in Data Quality and/or Governance, and be familiar with managing data distribution in an enterprise environment. Experience in an international organization and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment are highly valued. 
  • Risk & Governance Knowledge: Solid understanding of data risk in an enterprise level as well as practical knowledge of Data Governance principles. 
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with data management platforms that provide Data Quality controls (e.g. Informatica Data Quality or Palantir Foundry Data Health).
