Job Description
This is a unique role that combines software engineering in Rust with platform engineering for observability.

Software Engineering
- Design and build scalable, high-performance services in Rust (and Scala), capable of handling large data volumes.
- Own your code from design to production, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Observability & Platform Engineering
- Deliver and manage observability platforms like Logstash and the Grafana LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir), ensuring they run as robust, customer-facing services.
- Work with streaming technologies (Kafka) and Data Mesh principles to shape data pipelines and architecture.
- Embed DevOps practices into platform operations, driving efficiency and reliability.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Share knowledge across the team and support stakeholders with expertise and cooperation.
- Mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of inclusion, learning, and professional growth.
Qualifications
Our mission is to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable services for logging, monitoring, and observability—powering critical products that operate 24/7. You’ll design and code services in Rust, while also engineering observability platforms with the Grafana LGTM stack and Logstash.
We are looking for someone with a strong passion for observability solutions, a deep commitment to security, and a keen drive for operational excellence.
- Proven experience in Rust (focus area) and/or Scala for building resilient, scalable services.
- Strong expertise with Logstash and the Grafana LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir).
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments at scale.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing and streaming technologies (Kafka).
- Familiarity with data architecture concepts (Data Mesh).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure deployments.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and platform lifecycle management.
- Fluent in English; Dutch highly preferred.
- Proactive, goal-oriented, eager to learn and innovate.
Nice To Have:
- Understanding of networking principles (subnets, routing, DNS, VPN, firewalls) in enterprise environments.
- English proficiency is required; Dutch is highly desirable.
