The Opportunity
BlueScope Building Components is looking for an Accounts Officer to join the Commercial team based in Hamilton NSW. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.
Working with our two market-facing businesses, Ranbuild and Kiteleys, you will be a key contributor in delivering high-quality service to our internal and external customers. In this varied role, you will support the business with debtors management, banking, accounts payable, reporting, and accounting tasks.
This full-time, permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of accounting and finance functions, with the support and mentorship of an experienced commercial team - providing variety, development, and the chance to build a strong foundation for your career.
What Will You Do?
Working closely with internal and external customers, you will:
- lead debtor management - including credit control, account creation, banking, collections and reporting
- support accounts payable processing
- prepare month-end journals and reviews, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting
- actively contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

As someone with previous exposure to a similar role who is looking to for an opportunity to gain further exposure and development opportunities, you will bring:
- a degree or diploma level Accounting qualification
- experience using Excel and the ability to learn new systems
- a service-orientated mindset with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
- a growth mindset - eager to learn, improve, and contribute to team success
- willingness and confidence to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders
