About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Analytics & Insights Engineer to build the data foundation that powers our product decisions and business strategy. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, business intelligence, and product analytics.

You will partner with product and engineering teams to define analytics requirements across the customer funnel measuring behavior, identifying opportunities at every stage, and driving conversion and retention. You will design and implement scalable instrumentation and reporting infrastructure that ensures consistent, trustworthy data across marketing, onboarding, search, and checkout. And you will unlock insights from both structured and unstructured data search logs, clickstream, social content, images, videos, and trend signals, turning complexity into actionable intelligence for our product, marketing and brand partners.

What You’Ll Do:

  • Define the data story: Partner with leaders across product, engineering, and business to identify the KPIs that matter most and ensure alignment on measurement.
  • Design the data foundation: Build instrumentation, pipelines, and reporting infrastructure to capture structured and unstructured data, and organize it into a reliable, usable warehouse.
  • Turn noise into clear signal: Create scalable dashboards, automated reports, and self-service capabilities (e.g., Looker) that empower teams while maintaining a single source of truth.
  • Analyze and distill insights: Conduct deep-dive analyses across clickstream, search logs, customer behavior, and unstructured content to uncover trends and translate them into actionable reports for internal and external use.
  • Experiment with and leverage new tools: Use LLMs and prompt engineering to accelerate analysis, classify and enrich unstructured content, and pioneer new ways of understanding customer behavior.
  • Ensure operational rigor: Apply light project/program management discipline to define requirements, track execution, and ensure timely delivery of analytics initiatives.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 5+ years in analytics, BI, or data engineering, with proven impact in fast-paced environments.
  • Technical depth: Proficiency in SQL and modern data tools (BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, Looker/Mode, or similar). Experience building instrumentation, ETL/ELT pipelines, and scalable reporting layers.
  • Data architecture & hands-on skills: Proven track record of designing and building data pipelines, reporting layers, and dashboards, combined with a strong understanding of data architecture principles and the ability to be hands-on writing queries, debugging pipelines, and shipping dashboards.
  • Analytical mindset: Understanding of the funnel - conversion, retention, engagement with the ability to turn structured and unstructured data into actionable insights.
  • GenAI expertise: Hands-on experience using LLMs and prompt engineering for data analysis, classification, and insights.
  • Collaboration & influence: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to align teams around shared definitions and drive business impact.
  • Operating style: Pragmatic, proactive, and comfortable working in the ambiguity and pace of a startup.
