The Role
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Manager, Talent Acquisition to lead the team that fuels our ambitious growth. This role combines leadership and hands-on recruiting to attract top-tier talent and raise the bar for recruitment excellence across the organization. This position is based in our Ottawa office.
What You Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Talent Acquisition Partners to deliver efficient, high-quality recruitment support across the organization.
- Manage a portfolio of open requisitions directly, handling end-to-end recruitment for critical, confidential, or senior-level roles.
- Oversee the full-cycle talent acquisition process, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a strong candidate experience.
- Partner with People & Culture and business leaders to forecast hiring needs, design sourcing strategies, and prioritize recruitment initiatives aligned to organizational goals.
- Own and enhance talent programs including employer branding, campus recruitment, and Versaterm’s presence on platforms such as LinkedIn Life.
- Review and approve job descriptions, ensuring clarity, alignment, and consistency across the organization.
- Manage and coordinate recruitment vendors and agencies, determining cost-effective strategies to maximize ROI.
- Oversee and coordinate the review of security clearance requirements and related documentation for applicable roles.
- Manage the use of skills-based assessments, including cognitive aptitude and personality tools, to support objective, data-informed hiring decisions.
- Monitor recruitment metrics, pipeline data, and team performance to assess effectiveness, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure optimal use of recruitment tools and systems (e.g., Greenhouse ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter) to support scalability and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the People & Culture team on workforce planning, onboarding, and talent-related initiatives.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion objectives through inclusive recruitment practices and targeted outreach.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support team objectives, departmental needs, and overall organizational priorities.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) or HR designation (CHRP, CHRL, SHRM-CP) is an asset.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, including at least 3 years in a people management role.
- Experience in technical recruitment, considered a strong asset.
- Proven success managing full-cycle recruitment in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, ideally within technology or software sectors. Experience in technical recruitment, considered a strong asset.
- Experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies, employer branding programs, and selection methodologies that include cognitive aptitude and personality assessments.
- Strong understanding of sourcing techniques, applicant tracking systems (preferably Greenhouse), and recruitment analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams while independently managing key searches and competing priorities.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of security clearance processes and requirements considered an asset.
- A collaborative, adaptable mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence.
