Job Description

Residence: Santiago, Chile

  • Work Schedule: 5x2 shift (Monday to Friday)
  • English advance level - Mandatory requirement
  •  6 month Fixed Term Contract

Purpose

Execute the fulfillment of contractual sales transactions to satisfy Anglo American’s and customers’ contractual obligations. Unlock value opportunities, delivering timely information to all the team involved with the logistics, such as the sales operations team, managers, off-takers (Shareholders), reporting and shipping team.

Typical Tasks

Contract Administration

  • Execute end to end purchase and sales contracts copper concentrates, cathodes, anodes and molybdenum.
  • From DUS management, assay exchange, invoicing and IVV timely submission.
  • Accurately follow up on open shipments, reporting status to internal and sternal stakeholders.
  • Follow up vessel transit ETD/ETA.
  • Perform and follow up on commercial and logistics services payments.

Product Shipment and Logistics

  • Check quality certificates to ensure delivered commodity is within contractual terms.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation is in order as required, e.g. bill of lading, airway bills and quality certifications.
  • Responsible for collecting shipping documentation and maintaining virtual files (and physical if needed)

Finance

  • Calculate and issue provisional and final invoices.
  • Support discounting process by providing invoices and all related documentation to banks.
  • Check and / or operate all Letters of Credit for integrity and workability against the shipment

Customer Service and Stakeholder relationship

  • Manage customer communications and deliver a high level of service.
  • Handle logistics interactions and communications to optimise results.

Group Governance and Risk Management

  • Execute sales operations activities in alignment with Group Business Integrity and Governance policies.
  • Escalate and communicate any contract compliance discrepancies, logistics and other risk areas to the Sales Operations Team Leader.
  • Maintain accurate records within relevant systems e.g Aspect, SAP etc.

Process Improvement

  • Support continuous improvement of processes to identify opportunities that will help maximize added value to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Business Engineering, International Trade, Industrial Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Fluent/Advanced in English and Spanish.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of proven work experience in commodities (e.g. mining, petrol chemical, energy, metals industry and or related field).
  • Sales operations experience within commodities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Sales Execution - Manages activities to facilitate and execute sales effectively and efficiently to add value and innovate.
  • Commercial Reasoning and Application - Understands every element of the marketing value chain, financial concepts and appropriate risk management, and applies this knowledge to achieve business success and growth.
  • Commodity Metals Knowledge - Understands the production process, technical characteristics, market dynamics, commodity applications, customer service, their requirements and how we deliver added value.
  • Excel proficient.
  • SAP user is a plus
