Machine Operator

Basic Job Functions:

• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. 
• Perform the startup and shutdown procedures for the assigned production line area. Perform changeovers, quickly, efficiently, and safely. 
• Operate, control and monitor machines in the production line area and perform quality checks of the process and product. 
• Perform basic preventative maintenance duties and report any malfunctions or abnormalities with equipment to the maintenance team.
• Accurate reporting of production time, material usage and various other paperwork/reports involved in the process.
• Complete data entry using excel spreadsheets
• Assist with finishing operations as required to maintain workflow.
• Maintain cleanliness of the assigned production line area
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Constant use of tape measure, hand tools and safety devices. 
• This is a physically active role which requires lifting and carrying stock up to 50 lbs. Range of motion will include squatting, bending, standing, walking and reaching. 10+ hour shifts.

Minimum Requirements:

• 1 year experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Machine setup, operation, and process troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Overhead crane experience
• Forklift operation experience
• Use of HMIs
• Understanding of machine setup and tear down.
