The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) provides a vibrant and nurturing environment for staff and students to carry out inter-disciplinary research in key areas such as Computational Materials Science, Characterisation Materials Science, Defence Composite Materials, Functional Composite Materials, Energy, Nanomaterials, Low Dimensional Materials, Biomaterials Materials, Biological Materials, Bioinspired Materials and Sustainable Materials.

We are looking for a Research Fellow who can contribute to the following objectives of this research project: Identifying the critical materials and technology issues related to the problems, understanding the fundamental science behind these issues, and formulating coatings that meet the project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Critically analyzing the state-of-the-art in durable repellent surfaces.
- Formulating strategies towards solutions.
- Carry out materials characterizations and performance evaluation.
- Responsible for lab safety and maintenance.
- Literature review and review reporting.
Establishing Research Methodology.
- Conducting materials preparation, characterization, and performance evaluation.
- Carrying out quantifiable durability assessment.
- Analyzing results and writing reports.
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in Materials engineering or related engineering field.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team to realize project objectives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Relevant publication track records are an advantage.
