About The Role:
The Engineering Manager for the Connector Factory team is responsible for guiding a dedicated group of engineers who design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines. This position demands strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and the ability to create a collaborative and growth-oriented culture. As Engineering Manager, you will oversee projects that directly impact organizational decisions, drive product innovation, and support customer success.
You Will:
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and coach engineers through regular one-on-one meetings, feedback sessions, and structured career development plans.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and resource allocation.
Project & Delivery Management
- Lead project planning, execution, and delivery of impactful data solutions.
- Manage sprint cycles, prioritize backlogs, and coordinate cross-functional dependencies.
- Ensure timely completion of high-quality, high-performance features.
Technical Strategy & Execution
- Oversee architectural decisions and technical reviews for data pipelines and ETL workflows.
- Champion best practices in data engineering, including observability, testing, and documentation.
- Encourage adoption of modern tools like Databricks, Snowflake and PySpark.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and QA to define requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Communicate progress, potential risks, and blockers to leadership and stakeholders.
- Align engineering work with broader business goals and strategies.
Process Optimization & Quality Assurance
- Implement agile practices such as retrospectives and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and enhance pipeline performance, data reliability, and latency.
- Maintain compliance with data governance and security protocols.
What We'Re Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams in data-driven environments.
- Strong technical background in distributed systems, data platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experienced with agile methodologies and cross-functional teamwork.
- Background in managing data teams focused on US healthcare data analysis.
Preferred Tools & Technologies
- Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, PySpark
- Git, CI/CD pipelines
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
