What You’Ll Do:
As the Director of Commercial Insights and Analytics, you will be the driving force behind Kailera’s commercial data strategy. You will own the process of defining and implementing this strategy, significantly building our internal data capabilities, and surfacing critical customer insights that will directly inform and shape our strategic decisions across the organization. This key role reports to the Vice President of Global Marketing and provides essential support to both the Marketing and Value & Access teams.
Required location: Waltham, MA (onsite or hybrid 2-3 days per week).
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement our Commercial Insights and Analytics strategy, solutions and processes
- Over time, build up our capabilities and team in Commercial Insights and Analytics
- Manage vendors and be accountable for your functional budget
- Identify key drivers of success in the obesity market to help prioritize opportunities
- Collaborate with Competitive Intelligence and Forecasting analysts to build comprehensive market views and business cases
- Champion customers’ needs across the organization to ensure insights-driven, customer-centric decision making
- Provide market perspectives to guide strategies and investment decisions, keeping up to speed with all stakeholders in the fast-evolving obesity market
- Inform patient, HCP, and payer strategies as well as corporate strategy with relevant insights and market understanding
- Support the KAI-9531 brand team by contributing to key projects (e.g., positioning strategy, brand identity, messaging, value proposition, etc.) through market research, thought partnership, creativity and passion
- Establish an insights roadmap aligned with the brand roadmap, with its resource plan
- Design and execute market research projects to uncover consumer, healthcare professional, and payer needs
- Maintain a repository of insights across patients, HCPs, and payers
- Manage external agencies and oversee project budgets
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive commercial experience in pharmaceuticals/biotech in the USA with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within Commercial Insights and Data Analytics
- Demonstrated curiosity and passion for deeply understanding customers
- Expert-level analytical skills and demonstrated hands-on experience with major pharmaceutical data platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leaders, cross-functional partners, and technical teams
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in strategic roles within Market Research, Commercial Consulting, or similar environments
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high ambiguity and strategic complexity
Education:
- MBA or advanced degree in life sciences, marketing, or related field preferred
