Senior Analyst, Finance Business PartnerOverviewThe Senior Analyst, Finance Business Partner, is an integral part of Mastercard’s Core Payments Finance team, which supports the company’s mission to deliver seamless and secure payment solutions. This role focuses on providing financial support and analysis for core payments, products and platforms. The position also plays a key role in driving innovation and optimization strategies.
The finance team collaborates closely with business units to ensure strategic alignment, optimize financial performance, and support service owners with cost analysis and financial planning.
Role:
• Supports Digital Solutions Engineering divisions with financial and budget related needs; conducts financial analysis for group/business unit leadership
• Partners with the engineering business to support objective delivery by providing relevant financial analytics, regular reporting and business insights to key stakeholders, while developing robust tracking mechanisms
• Applies strategic understanding of business dynamics and competitive forces in different markets to provide insights and that aid the business to make financially sound decisions
• Escalates analysis and findings where applicable to Finance and Business leadership where course correction is required to deliver against financial plans and objectives
• Assists with strategy and process improvements to ensure alignment with Engineering objectives; proactively identifies ways to improve processes and executes agreed upon improvement FP&A
• Performs the annual target and budget process by issuing guidelines, analyzing performance, producing key management reporting, consolidating information and tracking changes
• Drives the financial planning and reporting related needs and requirements e.g. ownership of the development of Budget, Forecasts, Opportunity & Risk analysis and strategic plans
• Owns the monthly close process delivering analysis of variances against budget, forecasts, prior year actuals, key business drivers and initiatives. Reviews and provides thoughtful business driven commentary to management teams
• Designs and executes on financial process improvements by building and maintaining financial tools to perform analysis and modeling
• Investigates and creates opportunities for automation and more efficient methods of insightful analysis creation and delivery, anticipating needs of internal customers and other stakeholders
• Reviews and responds promptly to ad-hoc requests for information and analysis.
All About You:
• Financial analysis experience with progressively increasing responsibility
• Strong background in both accounting and financial analysis (Accruals, journal entries, GAAP)
• Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
• Demonstrates the ability to build internal and external business partnerships to understand the needs and objectives of stakeholders
• Experience reviewing and analyzing financial and operational modeling to support moderate-to-complex projects
• Experienced with financial systems and applications (e.g., Hyperion, Oracle, Excel, Powerpoint). Advanced excel knowledge and attention to detail is required.
• Experience resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Experience working with colleagues from other business units and markets
• Experience creating and delivering presentations for internal learning, training events and/or business discussions with key stakeholders
