Assistant Professor, Any Field – Department of Economics

Subfield: Econometrics, Industrial Organization

The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position in any field with a preference for a focus in Econometrics or Industrial Organization. The appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant Professor, but appointments at a higher rank may be possible under exceptional circumstances. The position start date is August 1, 2026.

Job Duties:

Teaching, research, and service to the institution. All McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.

Qualifications And Education Requirements:

Candidates should have completed their PhD or be near completion. An applicant’s record of performance must provide evidence of outstanding research potential and the ability/potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate level, as well as evidence (or intentions) of undergraduate and graduate supervision and of mentoring students with diverse lived experiences.
