Summary:
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructure across our hospital networks. The role will manage LAN/WAN connections, oversee VPN connectivity in Microsoft Azure, support the expansion of our Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), and contribute to the implementation and maintenance of our Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network security and access control. This role requires expertise in network management tools and a proactive approach to ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable network operation

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple hospital locations to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Manage and optimize VPN connections hosted in Microsoft Azure for secure remote access and inter-site connectivity.
  • Assist in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control, policy enforcement, and security.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network solutions, including Cisco ISE, with existing systems and applications
  • Implement security best practices to protect network infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities, leveraging Cisco ISE for enhanced access control
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures, including Cisco ISE policies, for operational continuity

Additional Job Description:

This Role Will Require An Initial On-Site (Oconomowoc, Wi) Commitment Of Approximately 3–6 Months (Depending On Integration Progress). After That, The Position Will Transition To A Rotating Hybrid Schedule Shared With Other Members Of The Network Team.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field and/or equivalent work experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on LAN/WAN management required
  • Strong knowledge of VPN technologies and experience managing VPNs in Microsoft Azure required
  • Proficiency in network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and network security practices required
  • Familiarity with Cisco networking equipment, tools, and Cisco ISE for identity-based network access control required
  • Experience with Cisco DNA Center for network management and automation preferred
  • Proficiency in Cisco vManage for SD-WAN configuration and monitoring preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) implementation, configuration, and policy management preferred
  • Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies and solutions preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Identity Implementation) preferred
  • Experience supporting the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of an SD-WAN network to enhance network efficiency and scalability preferred
