Accounts Payable Manager

Our company is growing and as a result we are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, customer service focused Accounts Payable professional to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment. The Accounts Payable Manager will need to have a basic understanding of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley. The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable process, managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and driving process improvements. This role requires a blend of strong accounting knowledge, people management skills, and a tech-forward mindset to scale with a growing SaaS company. This position reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager.
What You Will Do:
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs.
- Supervise and manage the accounts payable team and T&E, including hands on training, and mentoring
- Ensure all vendor invoices are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal policies.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes related to AP, including reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, and department heads to maintain effective vendor management and expense tracking
- Ensure proper classification of expenses in accordance with US GAAP.
- Maintain and improve AP systems and tools (e.g., NetSuite, Zip).
- Develop and track KPIs related to AP performance (e.g., DPO, invoice processing time).
- Manage/assist in implementing new Procure-To-Pay policies and procedures. Identify opportunities for business process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures, including system integrations.
- Manage Corporate Travel and Expense Program through Concur
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, including finance, operations, internal audit, and others to support business objectives and initiatives.
- Maintain and enhance the Company’s system of internal controls related to accounting processes and systems. Ensure SOX and policy compliance.
- Prepare, submit and provide detail explanations for quarterly review and annual audit requests and inquiries from our external auditors
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of 1099 reports in compliance with US federal and state regulations
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and analysis related to outgoing payments
- Perform ad hoc projects as assigned and assist on projects with various finance team members.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Business
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
- Solid working knowledge and application of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX/internal controls
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
- A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization
- Ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment, without sacrificing accuracy
- Strong systems knowledge, including the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Proficient with Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with NetSuite and Concur (or other expense management tool) preferred
