Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Indirect Buyer. This role is responsible for the assigned product lines, ensuring the timely supply of indirect materials. Develop strategies for the acquisition of products, services, and applications that generate value for the company through cost savings, bidding processes, performance improvements (machining, cutting tools, electrical, hardware, and/or any applicable commodity), insourcing projects with external suppliers, and cost avoidance plans, while meeting customer specifications and requirements. Contribute to the improvement of plant performance in strategic plans related to cost reduction and working capital.

Key Responsibilities

• Propose improvements to current tactical processes by transitioning to more automated systems that enable greater traceability and control (engineering requests, claims/rejections, testing/updates).
• Ensure the supply of indirect materials, products, and services for assigned plants, meeting quality, price, and delivery specifications.
• Analyze the database of assigned commodities to develop strategies that ensure timely and quality supply of products or services.
• Monitor market indicators to support supplier negotiations.
• Draft contracts that formalize supplier negotiations and ensure adequate supply to meet BorgWarner’s needs and requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers in compliance with established procedures for indirect material procurement.
• Communicate potential risks related to supply shortages or price impacts.
• Generate, develop, and implement cost-saving projects.
• Provide feedback to the GSM Manager regarding impacts, risks, and results.
• Propose process improvement ideas for indirect material purchasing (operations, systems).
• Approve system requisitions based on release strategy.
• Actively and enthusiastically participate in DE&I and plant engagement activities

What we’re looking for

Education/Experience Qualifications

• Schooling: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Business Administration, International Trade, or related
• Experience Time in similar position: 1 year or more in a similar position.
• Technical knowledge required: Contract drafting, supplier development, bidding and tendering processes, commodity management
• Other requirements: Microsoft Office, SAP, ERP systems
