Engineering CO-OPs at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. Our CO-OP program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations. What You Will Do

  • Support lifing systems and structural analysis tools to enable safe, reliable designs.
  • Aid in vibration, fatigue, and fracture mechanics tasks to support Module Centers customers on structural engineering of new designs, engine development plans, and production / field issues.
  • Maintain trust of regulatory and military customers with respect to structural integrity through consistent teaming, communication, and reporting.
  • Support product regulatory certification to meet customer needs.
  • Structural Validation Data Management.
  • Pre/Post Test Data Processing & Fatigue Analysis support.
  • Engineering expertise in fatigue, fracture mechanics, burst.
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative
  • A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges
  • Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share your knowledge with others

Qualifications We Prefer

Core Structures is responsible for the development, validation, and update of analytical models used to define and evaluate the structural life of aerospace components. We develop such models for various failure modes such a high cycle fatigue, low cycle fatigue, and fracture mechanics. Our models are utilized across the various engine components, based on the materials used for their creation. 

This position is classified as hybrid. Please ensure this role type (defined below) is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
