Where You Will Work
Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.
Position Scope:
EA Patten is currently looking for an NDT X-Ray Level I with some machine piece part inspection experience. This inspector, under the supervision of a Level 2 or 3 NDT inspector, will perform job duties as assigned and is expected to learn all aspects required to progress to level 1 certification in the assigned NDT method following appropriate training in the established methods of inspection and procedures by a certified Level 2 or 3 Inspector as well as formal training as required by certification programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately follow written instructions and clearly record results under close supervision.
- Show continuous progression within the NDT certification process based on demonstrated performance and feedback from others.
- Demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions on how to inspect, process and disposition aerospace components as applicable parts.
- Follow established procedures and part specific techniques.
- Support the department during any customer audits including NADCAP.
- Must know and follow all department and company safety rules.
- Successfully perform calibrations, tests, and evaluations with NDT equipment.
- If assigned, be able to learn and operate a fluorescent penetrant inspection line.
- Must be organized, have good basic math skills, good analytical skills, and be very conscientious of detailed requirements.
- Ability to learn and gain Knowledge of AS9100D, AS13100, ISO9001, ASTM and NAS-410 standards.
- Effective collaboration across NDT work cells that promotes drive for results in meeting production targets.
- Ability to learn and gain understanding of industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
- Self-starter with problem-solving skills.
- Strong team building, and decision-making skills based on electronic data.
- If assigned by supervision, will train and develop capability in relevant NDT methods. Specifically, FPI, Computed Radiography, Eddy Current Inspection and Ultrasonic Inspection.
- Ability to learn to interpret and use technical documentation.
- Maintain or develop, as assigned, required knowledge and understanding of inspection technology to support any inspection activity assigned.
- Support the company with positive interdepartmental relationships.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent attention to detail and due diligence in assigned work.
- Proficient or able to learn and work with the imperial and metric measuring system.
- US citizenship required, meeting ITAR definition of US Person (Documentation is required)
- Experience or ability to learn to work with advanced structures (aerospace).
- Ability to use basic inspection tools and equipment.
- Detail and bench inspection experience is a plus.
- Ability to read or learn to read specifications, formulas, charts, tables, drawings; comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Education/experience acquired through advanced education (e.g., associate degree) or an equivalent combination of education and life experience. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
