The Financial Service AI and Advanced Analytics Chapter Area is transforming how we harness data to drive smarter, faster, and more impactful decisions. We deliver independent, objective, and commercially focused risk assurance that strengthens the financial wellbeing of the Group and its stakeholders.
Our passionate analytics professionals design and build automated control assurance solutions across Retail Banking Services, Business Banking, Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M), Support Units, and the Chief Operations Office.
We collaborate with senior leaders, Line 1, Line 2, and Line 3 risk teams, and external auditors to uplift control environments and share insights that drive commercial outcomes and operational excellence.
Do Work That Matters:
As a Senior Analyst Advanced Analytics, you’ll lead complex data initiatives and unlock deep analytical insights that shape strategic decisions. You will:
- Apply advanced statistical techniques, predictive modelling, and machine learning to solve real business challenges.
- Communicate insights through AI-powered visualisation tools like Power BI.
- Translate analytics into strategic recommendations.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the growth of our analytics community.
- Support the design and implementation of automated assurance and internal reporting.
- Perform quality control and deliver high-quality, risk-focused analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Analytics strategic agenda within 3LoA by designing, developing, and implementing automated assurance.
- Support the design, development, and implementation the ongoing monitoring of key metrics, internal reporting, and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Contribute to the uplift the analytical capability of the 3LoA Analytics Community via delivery of training and presentations to various stakeholders.
- Ensure the wider Analytics team is maintaining quality of work and adhering to methodology and best practice by performing Quality Control (QC) of both completed and in-progress work.
- Perform high quality, risk-focused analytics providing management with powerful insights for improving the control environment in line with Group strategic objectives.
- Assist the function in becoming more efficient and effective using data analytics, AI, and automation.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- Demonstrated experience in Analytics or Data Assurance.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience with GitHub.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Proven stakeholder management and collaboration across teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Tertiary qualification in Advanced Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or Finance.
Tech Skills
We use a diverse range of analytical tools; we do not expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
- Analytical scripting languages such as SQL, Python and R
- Data visualisation tools such as Tableau, PowerBI
- Database environments such as Teradata, Snowflake, Spark
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
