Overview Of The Department/Section

  • Providing a key role in syndicating structured products and coordinating distribution strategies across EMEA.
  • Delivering the MTBP through driving the OTD strategy via primary and secondary asset sell-down – enhancing fee skim and improving ROE.
  • Using market appetite and intelligence to drive origination and syndicate discussions with clients.

Main Purpose Of The Role

  • Providing market expertise and maximizing income opportunities in underwritten and sell down scenarios.
  • To obtain analysis of the loan market and investor behavior with a view to its dissemination to internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Working alongside Originators, Structuring and Distribution teams on all aspects relating to the syndicate processes for GCIB Structured Finance assets (Project Finance,  Aviation, CSTF and Emerging Markets).
  • Responsible in developing and expanding the Specialised Finance O&D /OtD business originated from EMEA with Banks and Institutional Investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building relationship with internal stakeholders such as Project Finance, Commodity Finance, Emerging Markets Coverage, Structuring and Private Side Distribution
  • Responsible for building relationship with external clients being either sponsors / borrowers or investors / lenders in transactions
  • Responsible for delivering on Pitch Books, client briefings/offerings and management reporting to required standard and timetable
  • Responsible for delivering analysis and provision of financing structure commentary, pricing and investor appetite relating to potential transaction opportunities extending where appropriate to the provision of underwriting /sell-down support material for credit approval purposes
  • Responsible for delivering research, preparation and implementation of syndication / distribution strategies (primary or secondary market) including identification of potential investors and associated appetite / requirements, preparation / collation of transaction launch materials and sell down execution
  • Responsible for working and developing with other regions globally the distribution of EMEA originated transactions in order to maximise investor access and improve execution.

Skills And Experience

Functional / Technical Competencies:

Essential

  • Significant experience in Capital Markets and Structured Finance.
  • Familiarity and expertise with complex financial instruments.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management in specialised areas.
  • Ability to align financial strategy with business goals.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, including board members and external partners.

Preferred:

  • M&A modelling, capital structure optimization, and scenario analysis.

Education / Qualifications:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is essential.

Preferred:

  • MBA or other postgraduate qualifications (e.g., CFA) are highly valued, especially for candidates transitioning from other sectors .
