The Head of Digital Health and Safety Strategy will drive innovation across Global Patient Safety (GPS) and shape argenx’s broader approach to Digital Health as part of the enterprise-wide digital strategy. The incumbent will lead the development and implementation of innovative digital strategies that enhance the collection, aggregation, analysis, and communication of safety evidence, describing and optimizing the benefit-risk profile of our therapies while also co-creating the company’s digital strategy as a catalyst for improved patient outcomes.
The Head of Digital Health and Safety Strategy will report to the Global Head of GPS and will be a member of the argenx GPS Leadership Team as well as the global technology strategy team. This role will act as a connector across functions — Development, BIS, Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation — to ensure safety and digital health initiatives are aligned, impactful, and enterprise-ready. The Head of Digital Health and Safety Strategy will foster cross-functional collaboration, building coherence and momentum for Digital Health across argenx while embedding digital fluency within GPS.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and execution of a future-looking GPS digital strategy, ensuring initiatives align with overall GPS, Development, and argenx goals and objectives.
- Serve as primary digital partner for internal teams across Development, Business Information Systems (BIS), and asset teams as well as external technology partners to implement innovative digital health solutions designed to improve patient safety outcomes and advance healthcare.
- Serve as a key partner in the co-creation of the argenx Digital Health strategy, ensuring coherence across GPS, Development, and Medical Affairs, and acting as key integrator across teams and areas of expertise.
- Lead efforts to prioritize digital opportunities across GPS and argenx, aligning GPS strategy and Vision 2030 to drive impact and speed execution of prioritized initiatives.
- Represent GPS on digital innovation teams, governance bodies, and collaborations both internally and externally, ensuring argenx has a clear, visible voice in shaping the future of healthcare through responsible and innovative digital use.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment that supports innovative solutions and strategies, works flexibly, and empowers people to do their best work.
- Ensure GPS DHSS activities maintain the highest standards, comply with applicable pharmaceutical regulation as well as argenx policies and procedures.
- Partner with teams across GPS to promote a data-driven culture of digital fluency, innovation, and identify opportunities to co-create digital solutions that generate insights, efficiency, and automation.
Skills And Competencies
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactics and solutions leading to digital and data innovation
- Ability to combine knowledge of patient safety, pharmacovigilance, digital technologies, digital health to drive innovative solutions for GPS and argenx
- Demonstrated ability to apply and grow the digital capabilities of teams, particularly within patient safety
- Understanding of latest digital health trends and advancements in education, data collection, and communication and ability to translate current trends into future solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong connector with the ability to collaborate with and co-create with a diverse group of stakeholders

Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD or equivalent) preferred, not required
- 12 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry within pharmacovigilance organizations; substantial experience leading patient safety innovation teams and initiatives
- 3 years of experience leading digital teams and initiatives within pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations
- Knowledge of drug development/clinical trial design and operations is preferred
- Strong team leader who has proven interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead without authority and work in a complex matrix environment with cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel 25% of the time, as needed (domestic and global)
