School of Sports and Health – CET Associate Lecturer (Sport and Exercise Science)

[What you will be working on]

• The Associate Lecturers for Sport and Exercise Science will contribute and deliver modules or courses in the following areas:
• § Coaching philosophy and ethical practices
• § Safe Sport and Sport Safety
• § Fundamental Movement Skills for Children
• § Theories and models of coaching for young Children
• § Child engagement strategies and motivational techniques
• § Inclusive practices in learning environments
• § Nutrition and healthy habits for Children

[What we are looking for]

• Degree in physical education, sport and exercise science or related disciplines.
• Currently registered with NROC Level 1 (minimally)
• At least 3 years of teaching physical education/sport with young children
• Candidates should be able to:
• o Provide academic support, mentorship and constructive feedback to students
• o Collaborate with staff on interdisciplinary initiatives and applied learning opportunities.
• o Stay current with emerging trends, policies and best practices in coaching, sport science and child development
• Self-driven team-players with growth mindset who:
• o independently lead and inspire learners
• o complete duties to team standards in a timely manner
• o pay attention to detail
• o have good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• o are proficient with Microsoft Office, administrative tasks and mark academic assessment.
• Able to commit to at least 3 weekdays, and/or night/weekend classes during course runs.
