About The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate health and safety professional to join our Health and Safety team.
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver health and safety service outcomes to a diverse stakeholder group utilising high levels of communication, engagement and influence across the Narngulu operations.
Specific Responsibilities Will Be:
- Work closely with operational leaders, teams and contractors to support proactive management of key health and safety risks
- Influence site leaders to ensure the successful delivery and application of fundamental health and safety processes using the Iluka HSEC management system
- Provide support for risk assessments and incident investigations including coaching and facilitating
- Manage the development and implementation of Iluka’s proactive healthy lifestyle programs
- Prompt and effective management of all work and non-work related injuries and workers compensation matters
- Manage the accuracy and integrity of site Health and Safety data in the data management system
- Drive continuous improvement by actively seeking new or alternative approaches to health and safety
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in the mining industry and relevant qualifications in health and safety with a thorough understanding of leading practice health and safety management
- Knowledge of workers compensation legislation and injury management protocols
- In-depth understanding and application of MSIA and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
- Experience in interpreting medical assessment results and providing appropriate advice
