Who we are looking for

Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS) provides administrative fund services to Alternative Investments including Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Real Assets Funds. We deliver customized services to our clients, operating in 13 countries supporting all global regions.

We are looking to hire for a Managing Director of Alternative Investment Solutions located in Hangzhou China which will be part of the AIS HZ Management team. You will lead efforts on new clients onboarding, daily operations, and special projects; provide direct oversight and mentorship to the VPs and AVPs in the team. You will also work closely with different stakeholders internally and externally.

What you will be responsible for

Critical Business Priorities:

• Improve quality of service delivery within the business to our clients and at the same time improve productivity.
• Understand and familiar with alternative products, be able to face clients, both internal/external stakeholders.
• Drive transformation objectives for AIS.
• Develop and evolve the operating model. Stabilize and improve the current operating model.
• Adhere to and improve the control environment and productivity.
• Effectively partner with different stakeholders.

As a Managing Director you will:

• Manage a remit of 300-500 staff and report to China AIS head.
• Able to collaborate and work with global teams on remediation plan, productivity improvement, and operating model evolving.
• Focus on client outcomes, problem solving, cooperating, and communicating with the rest of the organization to achieve shared success.
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of NAV calculations, Financial Reporting, and Investor reporting across all platforms.
• Able to process feedback and develop meaningful actions to resolve identified challenges along reasonable timescales.
• Accountable for regulatory compliance of the business.
• Actively manage executive global stakeholders across globally. Partnering with other locations on best practice sharing, optimal operating model.
• Ensure business continuity planning and execution. Develop a scalable, robust operating model that delivers resiliency. Strategic interactions with key stakeholders and partners to ensure continued operations.
• Identify and develop opportunities for transformation and capacity creation. Drive productivity and operational effectiveness.
• Develop and lead a large team, fostering high performance and creating a destination for top talent. Develop effective modes of communication, delegation, talent development, employee engagement, and succession planning.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Hold a BA/BS degree; prefer finance, accounting, economics, or business management major.
• Excellent English ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills. Be able to deal with multiple stakeholders and manage conflicts.
• 15+ years’ financial services experience as minimum.
• Familiar with Alternative investments vehicles, especially Private Markets.
• Extensive experience in managing and delivering fund accounting and/or financial reporting service.
• Solid business unit management experience on complex clients requiring a high level of client interaction.
• Wide-ranging knowledge of the financial industry, in particular investment management.
• CFA, CPA would be plus.
